Linkwood, 12 yr old, Flora & Fauna, Single Malt Scotch Whisky

700 ml, 43% abv, Scotland (Speyside)

You don’t see many distillery bottlings of this single malt from the Linkwood Distillery, but this 12 year old Flora and Fauna series release, is delicious.

The Flora and Fauna Series is a collection of malt whisky distilleries that Diageo chose to highlight some years ago, but stock is now running very low, or sold out, on many of them.

“A classic example of a relatively light and fragrant whisky that has real complexity and a gorgeous feel” (Dave Broom)

“Beautifully perfumed, green apple, blossom, freshly mown grass. Water adds lime leaf/lemon zest. Delicate, but juicily, mouth-wateringly complex.

“Rounded yet delicate. Apples, tingly spiciness. Fills and perfumes the mouth. Delicious”

“Oily, mouth-coating. Perfect balance. Sweet and subtle. Waves of fruit. Pear, apples, quince jelly. Toasted and caramelised almonds” (Martine Nouet)
