700 ml, 40.0% abv, Singleton of Dufftown (Speyside)

A rich nose of wood, caramel, tart apple, sherry, and lightly spiced pear. The palate is powerful with savoury notes of wood, black pepper and spice. The finish is warm and dry with hints of banoffee, Bourbon oak and red berries. A complex and well-integrated whisky.

A combination of old bourbon casks of American Oak and ex-sherry casks of European Oak.

Description

COLOR : Deep amber.

NOSE : Sweet, delicious, dry autumn. Stewed soft fruits (especially apricots), ripe autumn apples and berries rich. Then, hazelnuts and toasted nuts are emerging accompanying a woody fragrance (dry tea leaves, freshly cut pine resin). Fruits soften, revealing a rich vanilla, toffee and chocolate. BODY : Light to medium, enveloping language.

PALATE : Firm and full. Dry and sweet, gently dominated by hazelnuts, toffee, sweet mint, rhubarb and apple juice. It reveals deeper notes almond biscuit and dry flavors with a hint of bitterness cocoa creamy. Water brings out the sweetness of the fruit, including blackberry.

FINAL : Long, smooth and warm. The sweet notes are accompanied by persistent dry and woody scents. Fresh fruit compote. It also reveals a spicy wood smoke and a hint of black pepper.
