Tobermory 20 year old, Sherry Cask, Single Malt Scotch Whisky

700 ml, 46.3% abv, Scotland (Island)

Two new special fillings were released by the Tobermory Distillery on the Scottish island of Mull. The Tobermory 18 years and the Tobermory 20 years are an integral part of the opening of a six-part collection of six whiskies, to be released over the coming two years.

This rare limited edition, 20 year old Spanish Sherry Cask, is a big sherry bomb and incredibly complex.  It has spent almost half it’s life in a Pedro Ximenez sherry cask. Non chill filtered and natural colour.

Description

 

Nose : Sweet sherry, studded with raisins. Hints of dark chocolate and espresso all seasoned with a slight prickle of white pepper.

Palate : Sweetness and spiciness await. This is rich, mouth-coating and so very smooth. Dried fruit and chocolate fudge rub shoulders deliciously together

Finish : Rich, creamy, long and powerful.

ALSO

Nose : Rich and warm with treacle and golden syrup. Mulled wine, nutmeg and christmas spices with wallnuts, sultanas and dates.

Palate : Deep rich oak with caramelised oranges and old fashioned marmalade. Notes of vanilla, dried fruits, hazelnuts and dark chocolate.

Finish : Long sweet and nutty with lingering notes of confit apricot and oranges.
