Longmorn is prized by connoisseurs of single malt Scotch whisky for its mellow and complex character. A Single Malt from Speyside, aged for more than sixteen years in oak casks. Released to replace the 15yo, and part of a promotion to signify Longmorn as a super premium, single malt producer.
This is a superb 16 year old, recommended. It comes with very nice packaging, including a leather wrapped base to the bottle.
Nose : The first hit is of dusty spices, sweet wood, fried banana, set honey, even some suede. Ripe soft, juicy, peachy fruits behind – runny toffee and cocoa butter.
Taste : Sweet and almost fizzy start: cinnamon, nutmeg. Then honeyed, almost mango like sweetness. Deepens into creme de mures
Finish : Cedar note, some mint leaf, then gingery spice on the long finish. Highly complex.
Longmorn has recently won two gold medals at the International Wine and Spirit Awards.
