Glenlossie, 10 yr old, Flora & Fauna bottling, Single Malt Scotch Whisky

700 ml, 43.0% abv, Scotland (Speyside)

This is a rare discontinued bottling from Diageo’s Flora & Fauna series. Whisky from Glenlossie is highly sought after by blenders and is consequently not widely available as a single malt.

“A smooth, medium bodied malt. The nose gives grassy aromas which give way to sweeter malt and spice flavours”

“Finish, long and slightly spicy”

“Though the whisky is bright on the nose with a honey and floral note, there is an earthy quality found as well–much like damp, freshly dug up soil. The whisky is soft on your palate with a sweet malty back note and a small amount of citrus peel”

Description

NOSE : Sweet and intense. Almond cake. A hint of varnish. Barley sugar. Waxed floors. Plum compote. Rich sherry notes. Raisins, a touch of marmalade.

PALATE : Fat, creamy, velvety, fruity. Stays on the sweet side. Stewed plums with ginger.

“The nose is full of cereal and grist. Notes of peels and malt with wood shavings and hay. The palate is of good body with a decent sweetness and plenty of fruit with barley sugar and peppy oak. The finish is long with gristy tannins”
