Mortlach’s 12 year old expression, named ‘The Wee Witchie’ after the small No.1 low wines still (integral to the 2.81 distillation process). This 12-year-old single malt scotch Whisky has been double cask (ex-Sherry & ex-Bourbon) matured in both European and American oak to enhance the distinctively rich and robust character.
BODY : Medium to full-bodied mouth texture.
NOSE : Rich and deep. A balance of oak and sandalwood. Light spice, charred toffee and red berries.
PALATE : Sweet and spicy. Notes of demerara sugar, dark chocolate, cherry jam, light tobacco. Classic characteristics of Mortlach meatiness.
FINISH : Smooth and dry, with a palate of bitter plum.
