A limited edition 10 year old from the Cooley distillery, matured for 8 years and then finished for a further 2 years in sherry casks.
This Tyrconnell Whisky is sweet, fruity with honey and citrus fruits.
The nose opens with honey and citrus with some decided sherry notes. Good malty notes follow with fine floral backing.
Rich and full in the mouth where all the flavours follow the nose with addition of tangerine . Good and soft yet there is firm oak grip.
Light notes of toffee and butterscotch creep into the frame just ahead of a long, well controlled finish.
Delightful, well balanced whiskey.
